Love Song

I do not let you go because one day you will be thirty
And you will realize that your mother did not love you
So much as she hated me,
And you will hate me then for not fighting harder to make you a man;To make you a human being

And you will be right to hate me then,
Though you are wrong to hate me now.

I do not let you go because I love you.

Though, like all true love,
I often wish I did not.

About Me

I like long walks through the Afghan mountains and long drives through the Iraqi nights.

I’ve been a medic in the US Army, a police officer, a Border Patrol Agent, an Air Marshal, and an armoured fighter in the SCA.

I’m a man like you, a creator and a father, a student and a teacher, trying to earn the mantle of Warrior-Poet.
